Program "Lake Hóp"
Day 1. Arrival
Welcome at the airport between 14.00-17:00 p.m. Transfer (about 3,5 hrs.) to Brekkulækur. Night-lodging at our farm.
Day 2. Get to know
The morning is at your leisure and during a ride in the afternoon you can get acquainted with the horses.
Day 3.: Brekkulækur – Dæli – Swimming pool
Ride over gentle hills to the valley Viðidalur, where the horses will spend the night in a pasture. On the way we stop over for a typical Icelandic tea at the farmhouse Dæli. Afterwards we return to Brekkulækur and we will relax in a natural hot pool.
Day 4. Dæli – Lake Hóp - Þingeyrar
Today we take a ride through Viðidalur valley, along sand dunes at the sea and some miles across the shallow lake Hóp. This is the highlight of our tour and it is a unique experience. We spend the night in a cosy farmhouse in Þingeyrar.
Day 5. and 6. Lake Hóp – Gauksmyri - Brekkulækur
Our way back to Brekkulækur will take 2 days, and once again we cross the great Lake Hóp and take a different route back in order to stop over at the famous horse-center Gauksmýri. Our last riding stage leads us along the sea side and grass covered river bank of Miðfjarðará. Good-bye to the horses.
Day 7. Reykjavík
After breakfast transfer to Reykjavík. Time for shopping or sightseeing. Overnight in a downtown guesthouse
Day 8. Reykjavík - Departure
Transfer to the airport.
