ICE, TOELT AND HOT SPRINGS
8 DAYS MÝVATN OPEN AND MORE
In Iceland winter is the time when riders become very active. Professionals train for the big tournaments which take place in summer and leisure riders for the long rides they are planning. Unique events in Iceland are pace races and Toelt contests on the ice in the open sky! The best known is the Mývatn Open. It takes place on the frozen Lake Myvatn, surrounded by a fantastic scenery of mountains and volcanoes. We will also visit Hólar the national stud farm and agricultural college, centre of horses, riding and breeding and we have a look at some smaller riding- and breeding associations, too. Last but not least we enjoy Iceland’s beautiful nature in wintertime and we get a taste of delicious (seasonal) Icelandic specialities.
